Waldemar A.S. Buczynski at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne " ( while living at No. 127 Royal Parade, Parkville, Victoria, Australia ; while his wife, Karen Buczynski - Lee was resurrecting for the Melbournians the memory of Vida Goldstein, by writing her thesis for the Melbourne University: " When Vida met the president " ) ©January 2012 Karen Buczynski - Lee onwards.

Illustration for the article about Arthur Phillip (born October 11, 1738, London, England—died August 31, 1814, Bath, Somerset) was a British admiral whose convict settlement established at Sydney in 1788 was the first permanent European colony on the Australian continent. βββ created for " The Independent Monthly " a magazine published by Mr Max Suitch in Sydney, NSW, Australia, 1992.βββ Dimentions: 12 X 16 cm, Medium: black " biro" pen on paper.βββ That illustration was one of my works exhibited with the drawings for " The Independent Monthly " exhibition in Sydney, Australia 1992.βββ © 1992 Waldemar A.S. Buczynski onwards.βββ PS. My first visual idea on that subject was very wisely totally rejected by Mr.Suitch.

The " Australian Rationalist " magazine was a publication I contributed to between 1997 - 2010. βββ It was excellent magazine under the editorship of : Ian Robinson ( Australian teacher of mathematics, author of theatrical plays and children books and a follower of Dalai Lama philosophy; Ian is still active in the tranquility of Victorian countryside ) Miss Elise Jones ( a brilliant editor currently the commissioning editor for Alan and Unvin publishers in Melbourne , Victoria, Australia) and Kevin Childs ( a great and fearless journalist/writer as well as a one of the New Zealand's Maori Chiefs ). βββ " Authority and the Individual " ( 1949 ) by Bertrandt Russell was my main inspiration and for all those still (?) with working brains in " The Age of Global Cyber Circus" I would reccomend that book. βββ Bertrand Russell - Born May 18, 1872, Trelleck, United Kingdom, Died: February 2, 1970 (age 97 years), Penrhyndeudraeth, United Kingdom; Influenced by: Ludwig Wittgenstein, Gottlob Frege, Immanuel Kant, Alfred North Whitehead, John Locke. βββ Spouse: Edith Finch Russell (m. 1952–1970), Patricia Spence (m. 1936–1952) βββ Awards: Nobel Prize in Literature, Kalinga Prize etc. βββ Children: John Russell, 4th Earl Russell, Conrad Russell, 5th Earl Russell, Lady Katharine Tait. βββ My front cover illustration was created with black " Conte " pencil and pen & ink on paper. βββ The " Australian Rationalist " magazine is still (?) allegedly published (?) however I am 1000 % certain, that the late Bertrand Russell would not wish to have anything to do with it and it is quite possible, he would die of laughter after reading 3 minutes of " it ". βββ The " Australian Rationalist " editions from the years 1997 - 2010 are not available on the " internet" and this is a very wise decision of the current " authorities " & " individuals". βββ " Only the educated are free " ( as observed soberly by the ancient Greek stoik Epictetus ). βββ Thinking is too dangerous, because it may lead to ...laughter... optimistically speaking. βββ © 2000 Waldemar A.S. " Cartoon” (1670s) first referred to the heavy paper on which preliminary sketches for artwork were made. While political cartoons and caricatures (literally “an overloading,” from caricare “to load; exaggerate”) are much older; “cartoon” was applied to them around 1843, then to animations c. 1916. During 1997 - 1998 I was contributing my illustrations, cartoons and graphics to the Hobart's daily newspaper " The Mercury " in Tasmania. βββ Unfortunately I've lost that job for quite absurd reason. The courier delivering articles to my house has smashed the brand new company's vehicle and my service was terminated. βββ The small sharks/patterns on a tie of this character were drawn by my than 9 years old son Jacob. It was his first published work and in 1999 he did some excellent illustrations and a front cover for the " Australian Rationalist .

A " flier " advertising the " Independent Monthly " magazine's exhibition of published artworks. [ the Australian bird " Laughing Kookaburra " was not drawn by me ]. The event was organised by Mr Max Suitch in Sydney, New South Wales , Australia in 1991. It featured the best [ ? ] of illustrative talent the continent had to offer. I did not attend the opening in Sydney and perhaps it was " rude " [ ? ] since the first artist - Bruce Petty was known to me. He visited my studio at 4/69 Maystone Street, Hawthorn East, Victoria and sat for my portrait for the " Archibald Prize " in 1999 [?]. During his visit [ which was synchronised with him visiting his elderly father at the old people's home in Melbourne ] he did a small portrait of me with a instant marker pencil , gave it to me and said :" I always wanted to be like you ". That was very strange to hear, since Bruce was the only Australian Oscar winner in the " Animation " category at that time.

" Karen & Waldemar " . Photograph: © 2nd of July 2024; Alan Mitchell onwards. βββ It is a single photographically documented scene from the making of a motion picture : " Belle de Noir " written & directed by Waldemar A.S. Buczynski. βββ Alan Mitchell is a classic Australian photographer - the quiet achiver. His portrait of an " philosophical anarchist " [ as John Flaus describes himself ] - [https://www.melbournecinematheque.org/category/present-year/man-of-the-cinema-a-tribute-to-john-flaus-at-90 ] and [ https://portrait.gov.au/portraits/2022.54/portrait-of-john-flaus ] was recently selected by the Australian Portrait Gallery in Canberra and considering the fact the institution collects mainly paintings and practically every Australian has a camera and considers himself/herself a " photographer " - it's an honour for Alan Mitchell indeed. βββ John Flaus spoke about the graduation motion picture made by Karen Buczynski - Lee [ than - Karen Von Bamberger ] " Anna's 27th Sense " on his ABC radio programme already in 1985. He said Karen's graduation film was " brilliant " and although he thought, he knew what was about to happen , Karen was always a " one step ahead of him " creating something totally unexpected. Flaus also met Waldemar Buczynski and told him, he is related to the American actor Charles Bronson. That is a factual information, however Waldemar never made any attempts to contact the legendary man. βββ https://karenvitae.tripod.com/id2.htm [ Alan Mitchell ( in white overalls; photographs 1 and 3 ) while working as a still photographer on Karen's " Anna 27th Sense " .
