" A woman from Malta " Size: 63 x 124 cm, Medium: oil on canvas. 7 Ermington Place, Kew, Victoria, Australia.© 1994 Waldemar A.S. Buczynski onwards.•ββ β‘β β•There is a nice story behind this work. I've met a young art student from the Melbourne's Victorian Collage of the Arts [VCA] ; she was studying painting and drawing as well as working as a waitress in a local coffee shop...she was from Malta and we had a great , short friendship. She came to my house at No 7 Ermington Place , Kew , Victoria studio and we were having great conversations about her country of origin - Malta. I was completely ignorant on that subject only knowing the geographical location of the island. I was very impressed with her as a person and that was the reason I've decided to paint my " picture " of her. There was no other reason. PS.: When she asked me , with a slight desperation in her voice : " why aren't you teaching us drawing and painting ? "...I didn't have the answer and most likely I said to her ..." because as my last dealer Mr. Georges Mora said ....they are all corrupt idiots..."...I don't remember my exact answer...
